I use a 4x2 Matrix splitter, an HDFury2, an Hauppauge HD PVR, and my laptop.
1. Inputs (STB, Blu Ray) into the matrix splitter
2. First matrix splitter output to TV
3. Second matrix splitter to HDFury 
4. HDFury to HD PVR
5. HD PVR to laptop
